Manito Forest City Rotary Club Scholarship

This year the Manito Forest City Rotary plans to award at least five scholarships that are worth $500 each. One of these scholarships may be reserved for an Interact member. Our hope is to give away more than five scholarships. Often, we have additional scholarship funding provided by members, past members or other activities that Rotary members support. 

Here are the steps you will need to take to qualify for a Rotary scholarship: 

 Apply for the scholarship! The scholarship is awarded based upon your application and judged by a committee of Rotary members. The application is judged anonymously as all names are removed from the applications before the committee begins the selection process. 

Turn your application into Ms. Lee before the end of the day on April 19, 2022. Spring break is April 11 – 15. Ms. Lee has applications in her office!

 Make a reservation with Mr. Coers to attend a meeting of the Rotary Club. Reservations can be made in person, by email (lynncoers@yahoo.com) or phone (Cell phone 309-840- 0420). You are invited to attend a club meeting anytime through April 19, 2022. The Rotary Club meetings all start at 6 P.M. and are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. 

The meeting will be held at Hawk’s Grove Inn in the back room. You must make your reservation no later than the previous Friday. 

A meal will be provided for you. 

Following the meal, give a short presentation. The presentation should include your college and career plans, your activities in school and the community and little information about your family. These presentations are short, rarely lasting more than five minutes. You are free to leave after your presentation. 

We prefer the maximum number of students allowed per meeting to be three, so plan ahead. The Rotary meeting attendance and presentation is a requirement to qualify for the scholarship.
